Toni Biography Perhaps it s more accurate to say that basketball, in the form of a local Withintwo years, Kukoc was practicing with dino radja, Vlade Divac, and others on http://members.aol.com/toni8babe/bio.html
Extractions: Toni Kukoc was born on September 18, 1968 in the Adriatic port city of Split, Croatia, which was then part of Yugoslavia. His father, Ante, was an engineer in Split's shipyard, and his mother, Radojka, was a homemaker. Toni was an athletic boy. He displayed talent at soccer and table tennis, and, around the age of 14, he took an interest in basketball. Perhaps it's more accurate to say that basketball, in the form of a local coach, took an interest in Toni, who grew eight inches in that year to the height of six feet, one inch. "Feet," as Kukoc was then called (for his overgrown extremities), soon demonstrated that he had a swiftness and a soft touch possessed by few big men. He could not only play in close to the basket, but he was also an excellent dribbler, passer, and a marksman on the perimeter. For those qualities, he would eventually be called the "Magic Johnson of Europe." Within two years, Kukoc was practicing with Dino Radja, Vlade Divac, and others on the Yugoslavian Junior National team. That team played four years without losing a formal international game, a run highlighted by two victories over the US team at the 1987 World Junior Championship. In one of those games, Kukoc sank 11 three pointers against the likes of college stars Gary Payton and Larry Johnson. When he wasn't playing on the national team, he was the star of his hometown professional team, Jugoplastika Split (later known as Pop 84 Split), which won the European Club Championship in 1989 and 1990. The Chicago Bulls selected Kukoc on the 29th pick of the 1990 draft, but because of the mounting political tension in Yugoslavia, he decided to remain there to be with his family. In 1991, Split won another European club championship, and Kukoc earned Player-of-the-Year honors for the third time.
Euroleague - Real Madrid - Olympiakos -The Parallel Lives Of From Athens, this is dino radja s reply Among many other things, basketball, and sports in general, gives you the chance to make lots of new friends in http://www.uleb.net/2000/euroleague/press15.htm
Extractions: A friendship and rivalry that has lasted for the last 15 years will have another Episode next Monday in the first game of the Euroleague. Sasha Djordjevic: 'Euroleague is a great idea. Now it is the players' time to fulfill our part of the show' Dino Radja: 'The Elite of every sport is more of a business every day, and the new competition has all the points to join show and business' By Vladimir Stankovic More than 15 years ago, Svetislav Pesic, who at the time was the head coach of the Yugoslavian Selection of junior teams, began to build a golden generation. In the Cadet European Championship in Ruse (Bulgaria) Yugoslavia became the champion, and four kids were the absolute protagonists: Vlade Divac, Toni Kukoc, Dino Radja and Aleksandar Djordjevic. A year later, in the Junior European Championship, the same team did the same and won with authority. The climax of this team arrived when they won the World Championship in Bormio in 1987, where they defeated twice the powerful American team, which was full of players that would become well-known NBA figures. At the same time, the four players were rivals in their own clubs. Radja and Kukoc were playing in Jugoplastika of Split (one of the best European teams ever), and Djordjevic and Divac played in Partizan of Belgrad. When they went to play abroad, the rivalry went on, most of all between Radja and Djordjevic. This rivalry will have another chapter next Monday at the opening game of the Euroleague.

Extractions: Basketball / EUROPEAN CUPS (1) - EuroLeague Baloncesto / COPAS DE EUROPA (1) - Liga Europea Men´s EuroLeague (C1) / EuroLiga Masculina (C1) This competition was previously called European Cup, different systems of competition have been applied, gradually increasing the number of participants, but from 1988 on, the Final Four was adopted, and since that year the first four teams play for the title the same week at the same venue. From 1991-92 more than one team per country was allowed and teams were divided into several round robin groups, thus the name of European League or EuroLeague becoming more and more popular. In 2000/2001 there was a split between the International Federation (FIBA) and the teams from the most powerful countries. Two competitions were played that season, the SuproLeague (organized by FIBA) and the ULEB´s EuroLeague (organized by the teams).

Extractions: NBA BASKETBALL: BASKETBALL'S GLOBAL VILLAGE By JERRY MITTLEMAN July 12, 2001 NBA teams are getting pretty confident about drafting European players these days. Two Europeans were lottery picks in this years draft, and Pau Gasol (3rd pick) was drafted higher then any European has ever been selected. It's not just the current success of Dirk Nowitzki, Peja Stojakovic and Hidayet Turkoglu or predictions that the new rules will "Europeanize the NBA" that have changed attitudes. The NBA may be moving towards Europe, but European basketball has been moving in the direction for years. Once known for its plodding style based mainly on team play and outside shooting, for the past fifteen years European basketball has been trying to emulate the NBA. Today their game has become more open and faster paced. Players display athleticism and creativity as well as fundamental skills. The 24 second clock was introduced last season.
