Expectations for her Stanford team are higher than for Bill Clinton on Election Day. The Cardinal entered the season as No. 1 in every major poll. Ten players, including all five starters, returned from last year's squad that made it to the Final Four. But the notoriously driven VanDerveer won't let herself or the team worry about expectations. "While there's a little target on our back with that pre-season No. 1 ranking, we're comfortable with it. We don't concentrate on it or talk about it," she says.
