Bullard Gets 3-year Deal With Hornets manager Carroll Dawson called Charlotte executive vice president of basketball operationsBob Bass and saying, Look, we re not going to resign matt bullard. http://www.shelbystar.com/sportsarchive/_disc4/00000aca.htm
Extractions: Contents Search Back to SPORTS Date: Richard Walker Freedom News Service Matt Bullard officially become a member of the Charlotte Hornets Monday, signing a three-year deal that could be worth up to $4.356 million. Bullard, a 6-foot-10 forward, is guaranteed $2.772 million over the first two years of the contract, as Charlotte exhausted its $4.5 million midlevel salary cap exception to sign him. The third year of the deal, which would be worth $1.584 million, is at the team's option. "As a veteran in my situation, I'm looking forward to coming to Charlotte," Bullard said in a conference call with Hornets media members. "I think I can help the team. I think I look at myself as sort of a hired gun; The team needs a shooter and I'm there." Hornets officials talked of their interest in a player like Bullard at last season's end, feeling that someone of his talents would be important this season once zone defenses become legal in the NBA. But it took some help from his old team to seal the deal.

If so, we offer the following epicurean delight, courtesy of TNT gastronomes Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley: Smith: "I think right now the Lakers' role players are eating soup with a spoon, because they're not hungry. If you eat soup with a fork, then you're left hungry. "Think about it. If you eat soup with a spoon, you get everything easily, all the endorsements, all the attention. You feel you don't have to work as hard. ... But if you eat soup with a fork, then you work hard to get everything and to take care of that hunger." Barkley: "Kenny, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. First of all, if you eat soup with a fork, you're an idiot. You're not going to get anything."
