Welcome to my Tim Dwight Fan Page! Before we get to the good stuff, I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I grew up in Iowa City, Iowa, and now I'm a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma (click here to go to my homepage). I went to high school with Tim (one year behind him), and had a great time watching him play high school football for the Little Hawks. He was a running back at the time, and an unbelievable one at that. I've never seen an athlete who was more fun to watch than Mr. Dwight, and my friends and I have followed him (as have many people) through his college career and into the NFL. So, I've finally decided to put a little place on the internet for Tim Dwight, even though he deserves a lot more than what I can do here. For now, this page is split into several sections. Follow the appropriate link below to go to whichever section you want. News Page (updated 9-23-01) - Recent news concerning Tim Dwight.
Tim Dwight Bio Page As dwight graduated, the question on everyone s mind was, where would he play collegefootball? tim could have gone to just about any college in the country http://weather.ou.edu/~jlee/dwightbio.html
Extractions: Like I said earlier, this is actually more of a career summary than a biography. For those of you who may have found this page, but have no idea who Tim Dwight is, he is currently a wide receiver/kick returner for the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL. He has been playing football since at least the seventh grade, but started to become prominent during his Junior year at City High School in Iowa City, Iowa. As a running back, he shattered state records his Senior year, and led a great Little Hawk team to its first state championship ever. As Dwight graduated, the question on everyone's mind was, where would he play college football? Tim could have gone to just about any college in the country, they were falling all over themselves to recruit him. However, he decided to attend the University of Iowa in his hometown, and play for the Hawkeyes. Tim loves the state of Iowa and the Hawkeye fans, and I think that played a big part in his decision. Regardless, he started as a halfback at Iowa, but his small size (5'8") limited his success. During his first two years, Dwight tried a lot of different positions, and was good at all of them, but he couldn't really seem to find his niche. However, he ran back kickoffs and punts, and quickly became a very good kick returner. At the beginning of his Junior year, Tim began to play extensively at the wide receiver position. I must admit that I was skeptical at first, I mean, a 5'8" wide receiver usually has a hard time getting the job done. However, Tim isn't your average athlete, this guy has as big a heart as I've ever seen. His determination, speed, and hard work soon made him a force to reckon with, and many a Big Ten defender had to learn the hard way. Dwight not only became an excellent receiver that year, but his kick return skills also improved rapidly. He led the nation in yards per return, and also scored on punt returns against Penn State and Ohio state. Tim rapidly became the MVP of the Hawkeyes, you could always count on him to make the big clutch play.

He and his teammates sit at 6-1, firmly atop the AFC West standings. DI reporter Kelly Beaton talked to Dwight about the Chargers' success, and the Hawkeyes' amazing season. TD: I'm doing ok. Going into the season, I don't say, "Ok, this year I want 60 catches and 1,000 yards." I ask myself, "Am I running good routes? Am I getting downfield to block and spring [Chargers running back] LaDainian [Tomlinson]?" I feel like I'm contributing, definitely. I worry about doing the small things. I try to be a team player.

Extractions: We've pinpointed 10 playersincluding the enthralling Tim Dwightwho are on the verge of breakthrough seasons BY ALL INDICATIONS, SAN Francisco 49ers quarterback Jeff Garcia is ready to explode on the NFL scene. Not like Joe Montana and Steve Young did, mind youbut as a solid pro capable of big victories. The word is the same out of Buffalo, where the Bills expect a healthy and experienced Antowain Smith to carry the balland the loadin their backfield. Perhaps not to the level of an O.J. Simpson or a Thurman Thomas, but certainly well enough to help Buffalo compete for the AFC East championship. Reports from Music City say John Thornton could help the Titans forget Josh Evans, who is suspended for a season. In fact, Thornton just might be effective enough on the defensive line to free up Jevon Kearse and allow him to do even more damage.
