WALSALL FC Vs INDIA The Indian national football teams second Tour of England 25Anthony Barras MIDFIELD4-Thomas bennet, 10-Dean Matias, 29-David Hunt FORWARDS 7-darren Wrack, 8 http://www.indianfootball.com/tour2001/walsall.html
Extractions: The couple of goals which decided the match in favour of Walsall came late in the match and once again proofed the problems of late goals against the Indian team in a match. The first goal was scored in the 84.minute, as a precise cross by Brasilian Herivelto was headed in by Portuguese striker Jorge Leitao, giving no chance to India goalkeeper Sangram Mukherjee. The second goal came in the last minute of the match as substitute Darren Byfield made a curling effort into the left corner of the goal.
Expansion Draft, Lg 3000: A Survivalist Perspective football EFS I considered protecting John Hall, darren bennet and/or an offensiveguard with these selections but I felt that it was still too early for all http://www.efsnews.com/artman/publish/article_265.shtml
Extractions: When I took the team over at the beginning of the 2003 season I could see that I had a lot of work ahead of me. I had been spoiled with success with my league 9 team (acquiring Daunte Culpepper at a bargain price and having some stud RBs). This team was a little different; I had inherited two questionable running backs, one due to his situation in Corey Dillon and one due to his age in Eddie George. I did have a great starting QB in Peyton Manning but damn was I paying for him (to the tune of 6 mil plus per year). My team was old and in my opinion without a lot of stud potential. This was clearly a team to rebuild. During the year through Free Agency and a couple trades I was able to get an inexpensive starting RB tandem in Rudi Johnson and Shaun Alexander, and a starting safety in Brian Russell, but I still lacked the nucleus needed to make this team a contender.

Extractions: Home News Latest Saturday 23rd January 1999 Got News? Boro' slip up at last T he Dr Martens League's biggest crowd of the day saw runaway Premier Division leaders Nuneaton Borough succumb to their first home defeat of the season. 1,404 saw a 63rd minute goal from James Hayter give mid-table Salisbury a 1-0 victory at Manor Park. Bath City move into second place with a 2-0 home victory over Crawley, leap-frogging Boston United , who threw away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 at Gloucester . Adie Mings was again the hero for the Tigers, coming on as substitute to score both home goals. Bath are now "only" eighteen points behind the leaders, but they do have three games in hand over Nuneaton. G raham Allner's managerial career at Worcester got off to a bad start, his team losing 3-0 at Cambridge , whilst Tamworth lost 3-1 at home to Weymouth . Grantham Town made the long journey back from Sussex with all three points, after beating Hastings 3-1, but the Gingerbreads left it late at Pilot Field. With the score at 1-1, a bizarre last minute own-goal by Stuart Myall gave the visitors the lead, with Darren Bowman rubbing salt in the wounds of the cash-strapped South coast team, with a third in injury time. Ilkeston Town move into fourth after hammering Gresley 4-1 in the all-Derbyshire clash at the New Manor Ground. Former Gresley-ites Justin O'Reilly and Kevin Allsopp were amongst the Robins' scorers, as Gresley slump to their eighth successive defeat.

Extractions: Steve Coppell stuck with the same team that beat Watford in dramatic fashion on Saturday. This meant Reading continued with the 4-5-1 formation. Claudio Ranieri certainly did not disappoint with his choice of team. Reading the team sheet could have easily frightened the life out of Mackie and Ingimarsson but through the course of the 90 minutes they proved they were up to the task of marking Hasselbaink and Crespo. Both teams started positively given the game an open feel to it. When Chelsea went forward it was difficult for the Reading defenders to hold onto them but Reading managed to keep them out thanks to Man Of The Match, Marcus Hahnemann. The big American had been criticised a number of times this season but was proven the critics wrong with a number of outstanding saves. Though the first good chance fell to the Royals. A cross in by veteran, John Salako found the head of Bas Savage whose header was saved very well by ex Tottenham goalkeeper Neil Sullivan. Sullivan was making his debut for the London team since his move from Chelsea's rivals. Though as the first half progressed Chelseas were becoming much more threatening on the Reading goal. Crespo blew a number of good chances. His first came when he managed to dig the ball out of his feet and hit a low shot past Hahnemann but the shot it the post, went across the face of goal and went out for a goal kick. He then had another golden opportunity when a ball was crossed into the box but from the penalty spot his shot went flying over the goal.
